Band 7を目指す書き出しと結論

IELTS Writing Task 2では、難しい表現を無理に使うよりも、 自分の意見を明確に示し、文章全体を論理的につなげることが重要です。 この記事では、英作文が苦手な人でも覚えやすい、 IntroductionとConclusionのテンプレートを紹介します。

ポイント： テンプレートだけを難しくしすぎる必要はありません。 Band 7を目指す場合も、簡潔で正確な文を使い、 Bodyで理由と具体例をしっかり説明するほうが効果的です。

IELTS Writing Task 2の主な問題形式

Task 2の問題は細かく分けるといくつかありますが、 まずは次の3種類を押さえておけば、多くの問題に対応できます。

全面的に賛成・反対
Some people believe that ________. I completely agree / disagree with this view because ________.

自分の立場が明確な場合に使います。

部分的に賛成
Although there are good arguments on both sides, I agree with this view to some extent.

「両方にもっともな意見があるが、私はある程度この考えに賛成する。」

Conclusionテンプレート

In conclusion, I believe that ________ because ________.
In conclusion, although there are arguments on both sides, I believe that ________.

2. Discussion Essay

代表的な設問
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Introductionテンプレート

基本形
People have different opinions about ________. This essay will discuss both views before giving my opinion.

「〜については異なる意見がある。このエッセイでは両方の意見を検討した後、自分の意見を述べる。」

自分の意見も最初に示す形
People have different views about whether ________. While both sides have valid points, I believe that ________.

自分の立場をIntroductionで明確に示したい場合に使います。

3. Advantages and Disadvantages Essay

長所と短所を論じる問題

どちらが大きいか判断する問題

「〜にはいくつかの欠点があるが、利点のほうが大きいと考える。」

欠点のほうが大きい場合

Conclusionテンプレート

Body Paragraphはどう書く？

IntroductionとConclusionを覚えても、 IELTS Writing Task 2の点数を大きく左右するのはBody Paragraphです。 Bodyでは、理由を述べるだけでなく、その理由を説明し、 具体例や結果につなげる必要があります。

どの問題でも使いやすいテンプレート

問題形式ごとにすべて違う文を覚えるのが難しい場合は、 次の形を基本として覚えておくと便利です。

Introduction

Conclusion

In conclusion, I believe that ________ because ________.

この形は特にOpinion Essayで使いやすいものですが、 Discussion EssayやAdvantages and Disadvantages Essayでも、 一部を変えることで応用できます。

難しいテンプレートを覚えるべき？

高得点用に見える難しい表現を覚えても、 その後のBody Paragraphが簡単すぎたり、 文法ミスが多かったりすると、文章全体のバランスが悪くなります。

Band 7を目指す場合は、難しい単語を無理に増やすよりも、 次の点を意識するほうが重要です。

  • 自分の意見をIntroductionで明確にする
  • 各Body Paragraphで一つの中心的な理由を説明する
  • 理由の後に説明や具体例を加える
  • Conclusionで新しい意見を出さない
  • 覚えたテンプレートを正確に使う
おすすめの学習法： まずは一つの基本テンプレートを完全に覚え、 実際の問題に合わせて空欄部分を書き換える練習を繰り返しましょう。
